Representative John Shadegg was speaking on the House floor on Monday in regards to the trial of Guantanamo detainees in New York. He took a statement by Mayor Bloomberg that the city was tough and they could handle the trials. Shadegg then asked the following question:

"Well, Mayor, how are you going to feel when it's your daughter that's kidnapped at school by a terrorist?"

Rep. Shadegg utilized the typical Republican fearmongering to illustrate a point that wasn't even close to reality. The Arizona Congressman has no factual basis to make these claims but somehow feels a terrorist kidnapping of Mayor Bloomberg's daughter could somehow advance his political agenda.
